Creating with fabric, paper, thread, and love

I am a Mixed Media Artist-ish????
I create with Fabric, paper, and thread. I am a Paper.A.holic, Craft-Junkie I Emboss everything
my motto is “Reuse, Recycle, Redecorate”

These are just a few of my favorite things!
Giving the gift of handmade. One of my most favorite things ever. When someone gives you a handmade gift, they thought about you and took the time to make it. Whether it is tailored just for you or not. Just the simple gesture of giving you something with so much love put into it.

Just screams YOU ARE AMAZING!!! I MADE THIS FOR YOU.

I am currently living in Rincon, Georgia. After over 40 years in California, my husband got his dream job at Gulfstream Aerospace as a software engineer. We have 3 kids. Caden lives in California still. Tatum is currently in Texas and William is still here with us (at least for now, but it is his senior year in high school)

It has taken me 5 years to find my people out here. I work for myself and part-time at the Stampers Boutique. This little craft shop is the most amazing place ever. The owner Korin Sutherland is amazing. She has owned her own Stamp business, SweetnSassy Stamps for over 14 years.

What is Type 1 Diabetes

What is Type 1 diabetes? – There is no cure, but we can save lives. Know your signs and symptoms.
Death is preventable!

Type 1 diabetes, which was formerly known as juvenile diabetes, is a chronic autoimmune condition that makes the body unable to produce insulin, which is the hormone that regulates blood sugar. Without insulin, our bodies cannot use the sugar in our bloodstream as energy, causing people to experience Diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA).

What are symptoms of Type 1 diabetes?

There are many signs or symptoms that can be present when someone has undiagnosed or untreated diabetes. Here are a few of those symptoms:

YOU CAN DIE from High Blood Sugars – You go into DKA Diabetic ketoacidosis – When your body breaks down the fat way to fast. Your liver processes the fat into ketones which causes your blood to become Acidic. This is what my sister Holly passed away from. She had Un-diagnosed Type 1 Diabetes. She went into DKA

  • Unquenchable thirst
  • Frequent urination
  • Unexplained bed-wetting
  • Unwanted or unexplained weight loss
  • Less energy
  • Fruity smelling breath
  • Blurry vision
  • Stomach pain
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Loss of consciousness
  • Rapid, heavy breathing

Today was a big step forward

Today was such a big step for me. We have lived here in Rincon, GA for just over 2 years now. I have only met a couple ladies so far and I only seem to see them not very often. To be honest I have not embraced this move at all. My heart and soul still lives in California. (not so secretively) I really just want to go back. I would in a heart beat.

But today I stepped out of my box. I branched out and participated in a local business group.  The Effingham Women in Business. I went their October meet up, where they had Chicken Salad Chic cater and we socialized. Each lady (about 20) went around and told about their business and a little about themselves. Then we had a speaker who spoke about branding. What I took from it in a gist was be yourself, know your target customer and repeat repeat repeat. Sell what ever it is with your heart your soul and with a purpose. People love to buy from others with a story, with meaning. So get yours out there.

I am very excited to make this next step and to see where it might just lead me. I am embracing my current path (how ever long it may be) and following my heart.

I hope that Holly is looking down on me and is a little proud of what I am trying to do. I miss her so much.

Today  I feel truly blessed
